Assessor, Internal Quality Assurance and Trainer Qualifications
Whether you are assessing people working towards a qualification – perhaps as part of an apprenticeship - or ensuring compliance to industry or in-house standards; developing your assessing skills is a must.
Assessing sits neatly within performance management. It involves coaxing out existing areas of competence whilst identifying any gaps in current skills and knowledge. It’s about demonstrating that people are “up to the job” – that they can perform to the right standard within an acceptable time-frame.
Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
This Award is about workplace assessment – watching somebody complete a task or series of tasks. You might also ask them questions about what they are doing and why and you may ask other people about their progress.
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
The Certificate is for those who also wish to carry out assessments within the classroom. You may be administering tests or assessing assignments. This would usually be in addition to work place assessment as per the Award.
The role of the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) – formerly known as an Internal Verifier (IV) - is to ensure that assessors have the skills and knowledge to perform within their role, follow procedures and create a fair and valid assessment environment.
Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
This Award is the benchmark qualification for that quality assuring assessment within a work place or classroom environment.
Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
The Certificate is for those who wish to develop their skills as people developers - perhaps supporting Apprentices. It includes how to identify and meet learner needs, delivering learning interventions, assessing and through optional units coaching, mentoring and the role of Personal Tutor.
